Description

The DRONES@STEAM project aims to support Vocational Education and Training (VET) teachers and students in an effort to introduce drone technology into teaching and learning. Rapid developments in the labor market create needs that require new digital skills, and offer excellent opportunities for those who develop and master them sufficiently.

Drone technology stands out as being a fun and practical approach to contemporary classrooms, experimentation, and exploration. Drone technology is a fascinating way to introduce students to STEAM related professions, equip them with relevant skills and thus cover the gaps reported in the labour market to meet the new job creation arising. At the same time, it blends together all STEAM fields such as maths and physics, art, electrical and mechanical engineering, and computer science. It promotes other employability skills needed in the 21st century such as problem-solving, group work, leadership, creativity and initiative.
