The Cyprus Computer Society announces that it is accepting applications for the Annual Pancyprian Informatics / Computer Competition (Informatics Olympiad), which is organized in collaboration with the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth. The terms and conditions of the competition have been posted on the website http://www.coinformatics.org/ and those interested are encouraged to visit it frequently for information.
The competition consists of 3 rounds which will be conducted using a computer.
The first round will be held on Sunday, January 31, 2021 from 10.00-13.00, per region in the following schools if allowed by the health protocols applied by the Ministry of Health:
- Nicosia District - Pallouriotissa High School
- Larnaca / Famagusta District - Agios Georgios High School
- Limassol District - Polemidia High School
- Paphos District - Ethnarchi Makarios III High School
In case restrictive measures due to a pandemic are applied, the first round will run online and new announcements will follow.
Eligible to participate in the competition are all students who attend secondary and technical schools, Public and Private. Those who were students in June 2020 and will not be higher education students at any stage of the selection process are also eligible to apply for a place on the IOI team.
For the purposes of the competition, the contestants must have a computer skills and knowledge of the C ++ programming language.
