European Cyber Security Challenge - ECSC

The European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC) is an initiative coordinated by ENISA the European Union Network and Information Security Agency.  It aims at enhancing cyber security talent across Europe and connecting high potentials with industry leading organizations.  At its core the ECSC is an Information Security Hacking and Penetration Testing Competition.   

Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge - CCSC

The Cyprus Cyber Security challenge is an initiatice coordinated by the Cyprus Computer Society which aims at challenging the participants to solve various cyber security tasks. The participants will be able to participate remotely though Internet. The top 10 finalists wil form the Cyprus Cyber Security Team that will represent Cyprus at the European Cyber Security Challenge.

CCS in cooperation with information security specialists based in Cyprus, from both academia and the industry is preparing the Cyprus’ national team for this year’s ECSC. The participating Cyprus team will consist of 10 young contestants (aged between 14-25), to be accompanied by mentors who are responsible for the selection process, training and preparation of the contestants prior to the trip. The 2018 ECSC will take place in October in London, UK.

Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge (CCSC) 2018

The 2018 CCSC took place in July 2018 and included two sessions. The first session was a 48-hour online CTF Challenge in which more than 50 participants registered. The second session was a personal meeting with the best cyber talents out of which the Cyprus Cyber Security Team was selected. Following the ECSC rules each National team comprises of ten members between the ages 14-25.

During September 2018, the National Team will participate in CTF’s and workshops in order to practice and get ready for its participation at the European Cyber Security Challenge.

European Cyber Security Challenge (ECSC) 2017

The competition took place in Malaga, Spain during the period 30^th October - 3^rd November 2017 and the Cyprus team achieved the 5th position among the participating 15 countries.
