The Cypriot delegation was organized by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS), with the support of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF/IDEK).

This year’s WRO 2025 was the largest edition in the competition’s history, bringing together 600 teams and more than 3,300 students from around 100 countries. This international celebration of educational robotics focused on the theme “The Future of Robots”, with the three Cypriot teams – representing Elementary, Junior, and Senior categories – proudly representing Cyprus in their respective age groups.

  • Elementary – Dream Team: The independent Dream Team of SteamDream Team made an impressive debut, securing 65th place out of 96 teams and winning a bronze medal in the “Satellites at Work” mission. The young competitors – Christoforos Foinikaridis, Panagiotis Lagos, and Sotiris Petrou, coached by Antonis Foinikaridis – presented a technologically advanced robot capable of completing demanding tasks, including satellite placement, space debris collection, and precise navigation on the track.
  • Junior – Aradippou Gymnasium Team: The Aradippou Gymnasium team, coached by George Petrou and composed of students George Chatziloizou, Agathangelos Georgiou, and Nektarios Christoforou, participated for the third consecutive year in the WRO International Finals. In a highly competitive environment with teams from around the world, the students gained valuable experiences that strengthened their technical and creative skills. We look forward to seeing them continue their robotics journey next year as they advance to Senior (High School) level.
  • Senior – Nerobot (E.P. Robotics Lab): The Nerobot team, consisting of students Sofoklis Andronikou and Panagiotis Agkonas, coached by Stavria Aggeli, represented Cyprus in the Senior category, performing exceptionally well in a highly technically challenging division. The students faced tasks requiring strategy, precision, and continuous improvement, while their participation enriched their knowledge in technology, engineering, and teamwork in real competition conditions.

All students had a unique experience, meeting peers from around the world and proudly representing Cyprus on the international educational robotics stage.

The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) warmly congratulates all teams for their outstanding representation of Cyprus and thanks RIF  for its continuous and substantial support of international robotics participation.

The national WRO Cyprus event was also supported by co-organizers STEM Education Hellas and IET Cyprus, and hosted by the European University Cyprus. CCS continues to invest in the development of STEM skills through national and international initiatives, inspiring students to explore technology, innovation, and problem-solving. CCS activities are strengthened by ECOMMBX and supported by XM as Tech Partner. For more information about CCS youth and student initiatives: www.ccs.org.cy
