The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) announces that within the framework of this year's Robotex festival, the Minoan Robot Sports Competition Global Olympiad (MRC) will be organized for the first time in Cyprus, in cooperation with HERO - Hellenic Educational Robotics Organization.
The 7th Pancyprian Robotex Robotics Competition and the 1st Pancyprian MRC Robot Sports Competition will be held in parallel at the University of Cyprus Sports Centre, on the weekend of 29 and 30 June 2024.

The event is addressed to students of all ages and adults and the participation fee per team is 50 euros. The winning teams of the Robotex challenges will participate in the next Robotex International in Estonia, from which in previous years the Cypriot delegation returned with a number of distinctions. Similarly, the winning teams of the MRC challenges will participate in the MRC international event in Crete.
Therefore, the SUMO robotic battles, the exciting Line Folllowing challenges, the Folkrace car challenge and the exit from the maze are this year enriched with archery, shot put and car rally sport challenges. Building on last year's successful Drones demonstrations, this year's event includes a unique competition with educational Drones where increased participation of teams is expected. Once again, the focus is on attracting more women into STEM fields with the Girls Fire Fighting challenge.
"Robots for an Inclusive Society" is the theme of the established Engino and Lego educational robotics exhibition by elementary school students, and there is also this year an Open Category for robotics construction aimed at middle school and university students.
Robotex Cyprus Kypruino limited edition
In the context of this year's event and with the aim of developing the educational robotics market in our country, CCS announces another constructive collaboration with the company Robo.com, which is the donor of Robotex Cyprus 2024. Together they present Robotex Cyprus Kypruino a unique and Cypriot manufacture limited edition Arduino Uno board.
The 2-day event will be open to the public and technology enthusiasts. We invite you for an action-packed weekend of robotics and sporting battles, to cheer on all the youngsters who will be taking part, while enjoying interactive exhibitions, music and dance performances and other events for young and old alike.
The largest educational robotics festival in Cyprus is organised by the Cyprus Computer Society is organized by the Cyprus Computer Society with the University of Cyprus, the Youth Board, and the IET Cyprus as co-organizers. The event is under the auspices of the A.E. of the President of the Republic Mr. Nikos Christodoulides, approved by the Ministry of Education, Sports and Youth and supported by a large number of public and private sector sponsors and supporters.
