The IT and education organization EDITC hosted an online presentation of the DWELL project on June 24th at 10:00 a.m. The project, which is coordinated by EDITC, aims to address one of today’s most pressing issues in education: digital well-being.

As Ms. Knaei highlighted during the event, as digital technologies become increasingly integrated into classrooms and daily life, it is clear that — while they offer tremendous opportunities — they also come with significant challenges, especially for young people.

We are seeing increased screen time, digital distractions, concerns over online safety, and growing awareness of the mental health impacts of constant connectivity. Schools are at the heart of this issue — and they are also key to the solution.

The DWELL project is a European initiative designed to support schools in creating healthier and more balanced digital environments. It responds to the growing need for clear, practical strategies that schools can implement to help students develop digital resilience and to guide educators in supporting that journey.

DWELL has four main objectives:

  • To empower educators with practical tools and strategies to promote balanced digital use.
  • To conduct research into students' digital habits, the challenges they face, and successful practices from schools.
  • To develop a flexible framework that schools can integrate into teaching and everyday school life.
  • To pilot and improve this framework in real school settings across Europe.

The project brings together partners from Cyprus, Finland, Romania, Bulgaria, and Greece, and is funded by the European Union under the ERASMUS+ programme, with a total budget of €966,000.

Teachers, parents, educational institutions, and other professionals interested in learning more about the DWELL project or participating in future activities are invited to visit the project’s website https://dwell.projectsgallery.eu or contact the EDITC team at [email protected].
