On March 7-8, the headquarters of Amazon in Milan, Italy, hosted the kick-off meeting of "Femme Forward," a new Erasmus project aimed at addressing the underrepresentation of women in digital jobs and start-ups. The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) is one of the 15 partners from seven European countries involved in this innovative initiative.
At the meeting, CCS was represented by Neofytos Xenofontos, who will contribute to the project's goal of empowering women with diverse backgrounds to pursue tech careers or establish their own start-ups through a comprehensive training program. Over the course of two years, "Femme Forward" will offer high-quality digital education based on Amazon Web Services re/Start program to 60 women in Cyprus free of charge, starting in October 2023.
Through this initiative, the "Femme Forward" consortium hopes to make a significant contribution to the advancement of gender equality in the tech sector, which is crucial for the growth and competitiveness of the European economy.
