With the support of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), Cyprus is set to participate in the World Robot Olympiad (WRO) International 2024, which will be held in Izmir, Turkey, from November 28 to 30.
Representing Cyprus are students from Aradippou Gymnasium, Agathangelos Georgiou, George Chatziloizou, and Nektarios Christoforou, who will be accompanied by their Design and Technology teacher, Mr. George Petrou. This team earned their ticket to the WRO International competition by excelling in the national WRO competition, organized by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) in collaboration with IET Cyprus (Institution of Engineering and Technology – Cyprus branch) and hosted at the European University Cyprus last September.
It is worth noting that while the winning teams in the primary and high school categories could not travel, the students from Aradippou Gymnasium will proudly represent Cyprus, gaining invaluable experiences and the opportunity to connect with students from around the world.
About the WRO
The World Robot Olympiad (WRO) is one of the leading global robotics competitions, inspiring students to develop skills in technology, engineering, and problem-solving through teamwork and creativity.
