The Cyprus Computer Society and the Cyber Mouflons community announce the 5th Cyprus Cyber Security Challenge (CCSC).

Eligible to participate are secondary school and university students between 14 and 25 years old (born 1997-2008 inclusive), cybersecurity professionals and researchers and hackers. It is noted that both novices and self-taught individuals are also welcome to participate as there will be introductory level challenges for those who wish to test their knowledge and skills in this CTF (Capture the Flag) type of competition

The competition is under the auspices of the Ministry of Defense, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports and Youth, the Commissioner of Communications through the Digital Security Authority and the Cyprus Police.

Aim and Objective

The competition aims to identify new talents in the field of cyber security and to encourage young students to pursue a related career. The goal of the competition is to identify 10 individuals who will comprise the Cyprus Team that will participate in the European Cyber ​​Security Challenge (ECSC) which will be held during the period 13-16 September 2022 in Austria. The ECSC is an initiative of the European Agency for Network and Information Security (ENISA).

 

Thematic area

This is a CTF (Capture the Flag) competition and the thematic area is «The Rick and Morty Edition». Participants will be required to solve challenges related to Cryptograhy, Pwn, Reverse Engineering, Web Exploitation, Forensics, Steganography.

 

Competition information

The CCSC will take place through an online platform during the period from 30 April until 15 May 2022. Contestants will be able to participate at any day and time during the above period, from anywhere they have internet access to solve various online challenges in the form of CTF (Capture the Flag).

 

Language

The language of the competition, as well as regulations and communication will be in English.

 

Eligibility for Participation  

Individuals born between 1997 and 2008 inclusive. Participation is FREE.
