CCS at the 2025 European Researchers Night with Student Robotics Demonstrations
The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) participated once again in the established annual event of the Research and Innovation Foundation (RIF), the European Researchers’ Night, which took place on 26 September 2025 at the State Fair.
As part of the event’s “Live Stage” program, CCS presented: “Four CCS Robotics Competitions: Four Student Demonstrations”, featuring students who excelled in the annual robotics competitions organized by the CCS.

Cyprus to Host the Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics (jBOI) 2025
The Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) is proud to announce that it will be organizing the Junior Balkan Olympiad in Informatics (jBOI) 2025, which will be hosted in Cyprus from 24–30 October 2025 in Larnaca. The competition will be held at the “Tasos Mitsopoulos” High School in Aradippou, with the sponsorship and support of the Ministry of Education, Sport and Youth of the Republic of Cyprus, under whose auspices the event will take place.

All Digital Summit
The Cyprus Computer Society will be attending the All Digital Summit from 10-12 September, taking place in Malta.
During the Summit, CCS will have a info point providing information about it's current EU-funded projects: Digital Futures, CODEDU, BRIDGE, Digital Skills Waller and DWELL.
Pilot tests for the CODEDU project
In Cyprus, the pilot tests for the CODEDU project involved three members of the National Strategic Advisory Group (NSAG). The activities were carried out through an online session, during which the members were introduced to the project and the training materials developed for both students and educators. They were then given full access to the resources and provided valuable feedback to the consortium after reviewing the content.
Survey - Understanding the current landscape for women in STEM in Cyprus
Women in Tech® Cyprus and TechIsland®, have launched a national survey, in collaboration with IMR/University of Nicosia, aiming at better understanding the current landscape for women in STEM in Cyprus. This initiative is part of a broader study that seeks to explore the representation of women professionals in STEM fields, examine the challenges they face, and identify potential policies and initiatives to support their participation and advancement.

Girls at the Top of Informatics. Gold Medal for Cyprus at EGOI 2025
With one of the most significant gold distinctions in its history, Cyprus returned from the European Girls' Olympiad in Informatics (EGOI 2025), held in Bonn, Germany. Gymnasium student Mariza Paspalli earned a gold medal, adding to Cyprus’ growing record of success and inspiring more young girls to pursue excellence in computing.
Robots Playing Chess and Bowling, and Other STEAM Activities at Robotex MRC Cyprus 2025
Cyprus’ leading educational robotics festival wrapped up with great success! Robotex MRC 2025 was organized by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) at the University of Cyprus Sports Center on Saturday 28 and Sunday 29 June 2025.
The 8th Robotex Cyprus and the 2nd MRC Cyprus competitions brought together over 600 robotics enthusiasts — students, university teams, and adults from across the island — who competed in more than 20 different robotics challenges.

Open Call for Small Grants for Programming and Computational Thinking Initiatives in Cyprus
The Code4Europe consortium, through CyRIC as the National Hub in Cyprus, offers small grants for activities that promote digital skills among youth, with a special focus on girls, in the context of EU Code Week. The funding is addressed for collective groups, such as schools and NGOs (from €500 to €1,000). Proposals will be evaluated based on the coherence, quality, and expected impact of the proposed activity.
