About MRC - Minoan Robotsports Competition

The Minoan Robotsports Competition (MRC), is proudly hosted in Cyprus by the Cyprus Computer Society (CCS) in collaboration with HERO - Hellenic Educational Robotics Organization. MRC is where ancient heritage meets modern technology, creating a platform for innovation in robotics through competitive sports. Its mission is to inspire creativity, teamwork, and technological excellence as participants from Cyprus and beyond showcase the incredible potential of robotics in the world of sports.

Inspiration: The Minoan Legacy

The MRC is inspired by the Minoan civilization, one of the earliest and most innovative cultures in history. The Minoans were pioneers in various fields, including art, architecture, and engineering—qualities that resonate with our dedication to technological progress. The aim is to carry forward this legacy by combining the spirit of ancient competition with the latest advancements in robotics.

About

MRC Cyprus took place for the first time in June 2024 with competitions that bring together robotics enthusiasts, engineers, and AI experts. The challenges feature a variety of sports-themed challenges, such as drones, archery, shot-put and rally. Each competition is designed to push different aspects of robotic performance, including speed, accuracy, strategy, and resilience. TThe winners of these challenges will have the opportunity to participate in the MRC edition held every year in Heraklion, Crete.

Whether you’re a professional, a student, or a hobbyist, MRC provides opportunities to collaborate, learn, and improve.
