Inspiration
What sparked your interest in this technology field and what path led you here?

I am Myriam Rodrigues and I work at Aylo as a Software Developer II, specializing in .NET. I grew up surrounded by technology, with my father working in IT, so I was always around computers. My curiosity grew as I spent time playing video games and helping others with tech issues. In high school, I decided to try learning a programming language, and it was love at first code. The challenge and creativity of coding have kept me excited and motivated ever since.

How do you manage the demands of career and personal life?

This position offers great flexibility, particularly with the option to work remotely. Working from home allows me to manage both my career and personal life more efficiently, as I can prioritize tasks and maintain a better work-life balance.

Stay curious, keep learning, and embrace challenges. But remember, work is not everything. It's equally important to nurture your personal life and well-being.

Career Growth
What skills and strategies have helped you succeed in tech?

I've found that a combination of technical skills and strong social abilities has been key to my success. While many developers focus heavily on coding, I realized early on that communication and collaboration are just as important in software development. So, I focused on improving my soft skills and not only my coding skills.

How do you stay ahead in a competitive field, and what obstacles have you overcome?

In a competitive field like software development, it's not about knowing every programming language, but being proficient in a few key ones. For example, many positions focus on specific technologies, like being a .NET or PHP developer. One obstacle I’ve faced during my job seeking is staying ahead in this fast-moving field, especially when it comes to technical interviews. To overcome this, I used to take courses to fill any knowledge gaps and stay updated on industry trends.

How do you envision the future of technology, and what role do you hope women play in it?

Technology will always continue to evolve, and having both genders represented is key to shaping its future. When both men and women contribute, we can develop technology that is more inclusive, accessible, and better reflects the diverse world around us.

As software developers, we have a significant impact on our workplace. Our work can either drive success or lead to setbacks. One project that stands out was when I worked on enhancing the payment processing system for our platform. It was a high-stakes task, as any issues could directly affect transactions and the trust of clients.
